Perry Township Board Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing
Present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor, Kelly Schmidt, Clerk, Troy Parmalee, Francis Griffith, Mark Fraser, Sandra Michalek.
The Annual meeting was opened at 6:36 pm with the pledge to the flag.
The March 6, 2013 minutes were approved. Parmalee moved; S. Michalek seconded. All ayes Carried.
The Supervisor gave a year-end report. The Bacon Drain needs to be finished. The roads in general are holding up. Seal coating, crack sealing and gravel applications were done this year. Township finances are good.
Salary Resolutions: S. Michalek made a motion to approve an increase of Township Official salaries to $17,000 per year, however it was not supported. A salary resolution was made with no increases this year. $16695 for the Supervisor, Parmalee moved; Fraser seconded. All ayes Carried. $16695 for the Clerk, Parmalee moved; Griffith seconded. All ayes Carried. $16695 for the Treasurer, Grinnell moved; Fraser seconded. All ayes Carried.
Annual meeting adjourned at 6:44pm. Parmalee, moved; Schmidt, seconded. Carried.
The Budget Hearing was opened at 6:45pm.
Parmalee explained the 2014-2015 budget.
For the General fund budget, state revenue sharing is up but we have lost some taxable value.
The DDA will adopt their budget at the March meeting.
The Recycling, Sewer maintenance, Special assessment, and Rose Lawn Cemetery funds are similar to last year.
The Building and Grounds fund was increased by $2000 for repairs needed at the Hall to bring it in compliance with the accessibility requirements by the State of Michigan.
The Road Budget will be finalized at the April regular meeting to specify specific road projects.
Investment, Perpetual Care Improvement, Land, Building are all contingencies.
The 2014-2015 General fund and other budgets were approved with 1 mill as reduced by the Headlee Role Back to be levied. Parmalee, moved; Fraser seconded. Roll call: Fraser, Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee, Grinnell.
All ayes Carried.
