Public comments: J. Ford asked the board to adopt a resolution asking for full and mandatory funding for Veteran’s Health Care. Tabled until next month.

Dep. Schmidt reported 232 incidents in the township and 124 were traffic stops. He asked people to keep watch on garages as people are breaking windows and getting in and stealing things.
Comm. Pavlica said 911 fees are based on cell phone billing addresses; had April meeting date changes for County; Pleasant View is asking for 2 mills on Primary ballot; Alcohol abuse meetings are held at Baker College; County set aside $2000 for Rails to Trails. He congratulated Chief Hubbard on a recent decision he made to take a person to the hospital. He was asked about wireless Internet for our area.
SSESA: Chief Hubbard taught the new requirement classes for Homeland Security. Every department was working together. He welcomed Mark Fraser, Perry Twp. rep to the board. There were 97 calls in Feb. The ambulance has been moved from Burns Twp. to Lehring Rd. SSESA is asking for a 1 mill, 4-year renewal in Aug. New Homeland Security grant money is being earmarked for tornado sirens.
DDA: They will meet with Road Comm. to discuss streetlights on Lansing Rd. DEQ has 6 months to comment on Talbot property and it will be considered clean.

K. Pavlica, Perry Twp. Library representative, asked the board to put the library renewal on the Aug. ballot. Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to adopt the resolution to approve the ballot proposal for 0.5 mills. All ayes. Township residents may now use the Perry City library free of charge as they have joined the District Library.
Caldwell, Co. Surveyor said we have 6 sections surveyed in the NE and they are waiting for dryer weather to continue work. Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to proceed with sections 13, 14. 15 at a cost of $7,000. All ayes. If grant money holds out we might get 6 sections done.
Lawn mowing bids: There were 2 bidders. Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to accept the bid of Munro Enterprise, Inc. All ayes.
Board of Review: There were 28 residents who came to the sessions and 11 were adjusted. We dropped $10,800,000 in SEV. Sue Hammond, Paragon, gave the board a compilation of real estate sales for 2007, which was very helpful.
Rowe Engineering & MSU are offering classes on the Planning & Zoning Enabling Act. Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to send anyone from the Planning Comm. and Twp. board that wish to attend. All ayes. MSU is $115 and Rowe is free.
Michalek moved, second by Grinnell to re-appoint Larry Place & Joe Ocenasek to the Planning Commission. Carried
Proposed text amendment to the County Zoning ordinance for Wind Energy Conversion Systems: Planning Commission recommended approval with the addition that windmills which are used for ornamental or for agriculture & aquaculture purposes be exempt. Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to concur with the Planning Commission & recommend approval with the additional wording. Carried. All commented that the County had done a lot of research in putting together the amendment.
Pavlica moved, second by Michalek to continue with Demis & Wenzlick as our auditors at a cost of $3,800. All ayes
Force asked about the handles on the water system at the cemetery. Parmalee & Grinnell will look into faucets that will work better for older people.
