Parks & Rec. plan the township is conducting was discussed. 10 – 20 acres is needed for a nice park. At the last public hearing a lot of suggestions were made for ideas of things to have in a park. The next public hearing is Jan. 10, 2010. Ocenasek had suggested to Morrice that he would take gravel from the lagoon site and make up a park area when he was done. The Village did not agree to this at the time.
Robert’s Auction sales had a ribbon cutting and the sales will be indoors.
The trees donated from Saxton’s in memory of Frances Michalek will be planted next spring.
Amendments from the County were discussed and these are the recommendations from the Commission to send to the township board.
Campgrounds: Felt the amendments were too restrictive and should be handled case by case. The ordinance seemed fine the way it is. If there is natural space for a campgound in the county, don’t make it so hard for people to develop. This deters growth.
Outdoor furnaces: Wording is fine and should only apply to high-density areas and have stack requirements so they don’t bother neighbors. Should also meet residential home requirements.
Major thoroughfare Map Review: Felt the wording is ok with the addition, “or those defined by the Shiawassee County Road Commission as Class A Primary Roads.”
Place moved, second by Michalek to adjourn. Carried
