Board present: Sidney Grinnell, Supervisor; Sandra Michalek, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Sue Hammond, Trustee.  Absent: Peggy Michalek

The pledge to the flag was recited. Grinnell, Hammond, Michalek, & Parmalee were present.  Peggy Michalek was absent.

Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to approve the agenda.  Carried

Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve the January minutes.  Carried

Dep. Schmidt reported Perry Township had 227 incidents in January.  101 were traffic stops.

SSESA: 22 calls in Dec. and a total of 224 calls the past year.

Comm. Pavlica reported the courthouse is close to completion.  Reg. of Deeds; Friend of the Court, and Shia. Co. each paid a third of the cost for renovation.  Wind energy portion of the zoning ordinance is going to the Co. Planning Comm.  The Commissioners have a good relationship with the Drain office and Sheriff’s Dept.

Latunski discussed the 2009 road projects with the board. Beard Rd. will not be seal coated, as the City cannot do it this budget.  We may do the crack fill.  Woodhull will not do anything with Beardslee Rd. either.  Latunski used 1,000 ton more salt last year.  This year they are mixing sand and salt for the roads and doing less work on roads, doing only the hills, curves, & intersections for salting.  Tree bid removal:  Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to accept the bid of Holzhausen Excavating for tree and stump removal on Beardslee Rd. for $7,120. All ayes.  There is a $166.20 culvert bill outstanding and the person has been sent many bills.  Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to pay the bill and continue to pursue the collection.  All ayes

Michalek moved, second by Hammond to accept the financial statement and pay the bills.  All ayes

Schweikert asked the board to approve the poverty exemption guidelines and asset test.  Michalek moved, second by Grinnell to approve the resolution.  All ayes

Parmalee & Hammond have worked on the water resolution.  After removal of paragraphs 5 & 6, Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to rescind the motion to accept the resolution and adopt the amended resolution #8-01-07.  All ayes.

Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to approve the ambulance service proposition wording asking the voters to approve setting up a special assessment district for the purpose of raising money to assist with providing ambulance service for said district.  This district would not include the Village of Morrice.  All ayes.  Parmalee & Michalek will go to the Village meeting to discuss their ambulance funding.

Attorney Smith presented the agreement he prepared for the township and the DeLau’s for payment of $7,019 and charge 4% interest.  Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to approve said agreement.  All ayes

Hammond moved, second by Grinnell to approve the bid of $500 from Dick Bolek for wall repair in area of the hall.  It is to be done in 30 days.  All ayes

Hammond moved, second by Parmalee to pay MATS for Grinnell.  All ayes.  Michalek moved, second by Hammond to send the Supervisor to the Spring Conference at a cost of $200.  All ayes

Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to set the Supervisor’s salary at $16,695. All ayes

Michalek moved, second by Grinnell to set the Treasurer’s salary at $16,695.  All ayes

Grinnell moved, second by Parmalee to set the Clerk’s salary at $16,695.  All ayes

Hammond moved, second by Parmalee to set the Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing for March 28, 2009 at 10 am.

Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to adjourn.  Carried
