Parmalee moved, second by Andrus to approve the May minutes. Carried
Dep. Schmidt reported there were 238 incidents last month in the township with 138 being traffic stops. He was asked to keep an eye on people parking partially in the road on Ruppert Rd.
SSESA: Chief Hubbard was absent, but a report indicated that April had 104 calls and 383 calls for the year to date. Perry Township had 22 calls in April.
Commissioner Pavlica was absent, but sent an email. He wanted to make us aware of the land division and the fact that many new splits may start as a result of the 10-year anniversary. There is a request before the County to create a County Land Division Ordinance or at least make changes to our current recording process at the County.
DDA: Todd White, Superior, will be at the next DDA meeting.
Zoning: 2 variances and the site plan for the water plant for Perry City. Spadafore has filed a conditional zoning application with the County and it will be given to the Planning Commission for review.
Michalek moved, second by Grinnell to approve the financial statement and pay the bills. All ayes
Parmalee moved, second by Grinnell to purchase flags & flag holders for the Veterans and lot markers to finish the cemetery. All ayes. Patsy & Sandy will get bids for a cemetery pole building and for finishing the roads.
Parmalee moved, second by Michalek to adopt the Appropriations Act to accompany the budget. All ayes
A petition was received from over 50% of the property owners on Thornapple Dr. asking that a 5-year special assessment district be created. Troy will examine the petition and clerk will contact the insurance company. This will take 2 hearings and the clerk is to publish notices and notify the residents of each hearing. Parmalee moved, second by Grinell to approve the resolution prepared for the meeting and this sets the hearing process in motion. All ayes
Investment update: All interest is down, but the CD’s are ready to renew. The treasurer was asked to renew them.
There will be a meeting on June 12th at 2:30 pm at the Senior Center for discussion on the center with the SCOA board. All interested are invited to attend.
Roads: The cost of seal coating was discussed. There is a new process the Road Commission is doing this year, but it is more expensive. Michalek moved, second by Force to do 2 projects, but eliminate the Beard Rd. project from Morrice Rd. east to the township line and see how this new process works. All ayes
Force moved, second by Andrus to waive the 1% administration fee off summer and winter taxes for this year. All ayes.
Public comments: Mark Fulks announced he is running for Supervisor.
