Public Hearing For Fertilizer Dealer Supply Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate

The meeting opened with the pledge to the flag and all board members were present.
Public Hearing: opened at 7:01 pm for Fertilizer Dealer Supply to be granted an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate. It was noted that the township could abate for up to12 years. Mr. Dickey explained they are expanding with an 8,000 sq. ft. building. It will be an assembly shop for the equipment they sell and are hoping to add new jobs. Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve granting of the Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate and this business fits the criteria of a 9 yr. exemption for the first 2 yrs. with a renewal in 2- year segments. Parmalee moved, second by P. Michalek to approve the agenda. Carried
Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to approve the minutes of May with the addition that the financial statement was approved and bills were to be paid. Carried
Spicer Eng. was present to discuss changing the boundaries of the McCrea intercounty drain district. Both Perry & Locke townships have to petition the drain commissioners to change the boundaries. After the petition has been received there will be 2 public hearings, one in each township. The first hearing is a practicality hearing at the end of this month and the second is a necessity hearing. There are many maintenance issues on the McCrea Drain that Spicer has inspected. Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to file the petition on behalf of the township to adjust the boundaries of the McCrea Drain District and start the public hearing process. All ayes
Dep. Lawson reported 240 calls in Perry Township in May and 133 were traffic violations. He was asked to have extra surveillance at Rose Lawn cemetery as people are stealing items from there.
SSESA report showed 27 runs to Perry Township. There have been 96 so far this year.
Harold Buck Kuisel from Bath Twp. is going to be running for 85th district representative next year on the Republican ticket.
Hammond moved, second by S. Michalek to accept the financial statement and pay the bills. All ayes
Bath Rd.: Sections of the road will be taken out and replaced. Other areas will be seal coated.
Ambulance Special Assessment: Parmalee moved, second by Hammond to set Aug. 5th at 7 pm as the first public hearing on having a special assessment district for Ambulance service.
Braden Rd. culvert: Supervisor will get bids on repair for next month.
Summer Legislative Conference: P. Michalek moved, second by Hammond to send any board member to the conference and pay expenses. All ayes. The Supervisor has expressed an interest in attending.
Parks & Recreation Plan: It was suggested that we have the cooperation of all municipalities and school districts in planning for a park or bike path. Feuka volunteered to draft procedures for committee work on a plan. P. Michalek will contact Morrice & Perry Schools for cooperation in forming a committee and Hammond will contact the Village of Morrice and Perry City.
Cemetery: Parmalee moved, Second by P. Michalek to have Milt Sage survey the road for cemetery expansion not to exceed $500. All ayes
It was also suggested to have lattice around the water hydrant that was hit & bent last year. There has been a foundation poured by someone other than the Sexton. It was the consensus of the board to keep the money that had previously paid for the foundation in case the foundation has to be repaired. The rules stipulate only the Sexton can pour foundations.
P. Michalek asked to use the township hall for a softball banquet. The board has a policy that for non-profit organizations if there is no rent charged the renter still has to pay $25 for the custodial clean up.
