PERRY TOWNSHIP BUDGET WORK SESSION
February 19, 2019
PRESENT: Mark Fulks, Supervisor; Kelly Schmidt, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Mark Fraser and Francis Griffith, Trustees.
The meeting was called to order with pledge to the flag.
Revenues were discussed. State shared revenue was up from last year. Property tax was up also from last year. Expected revenues are $542,400 for the 2019-2020 year budget.
Expenditures were discussed. Total expenditures are $542,400 for a net income of -0-. There were salary increases recommended for the Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer from $18,000 to $18,600 at the February 6, 2019 board meeting. These recommendations are subject to the annual meeting to be held on March 6, 2019. There were wage increases for both deputy treasurer and deputy clerk from $14.00 to $14.50 per hour. There were wage increases for the Trustees for each meeting from $120 to $125. There was a wage increase for the custodian from $12.00 to $13.50 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. There was a wage increase for the Election Workers from $10.00 to $12.00 hour and $14.00 per hour for the Election Chair. Parmalee moved; Fulks seconded. Roll Call: Schmidt, Fulks, Fraser, Griffith, Parmalee. All ayes Carried.
There was a decrease to the Audit category and the Board of Review Salaries. There was an increase to Board of Review Seminars, to the General Government Retirement and Printing & Publishing.
The Clerk expects to have one election, May in 2019. No changes were made to the election budget.
The Road Budget recommended projects for 2019-2020 include work on (Scratch Course/Chip Seal) Beardslee Rd, Bath Rd to Britton Rd 1.10 miles $$107,700; Bath Rd, Lansing Rd west to Twp Line .15 miles $11,800. (Crack Seal) Bath Rd, M-52 to Lansing Rd 2.72 miles $13,600 (est). (Crack Seal & Seal Coat) Ruess Rd, Britton Rd north to end of Pavement .36 miles $14,000 (est). (Gravel) Cork Rd, Beard Rd to Braden Rd (joint with Antrim Twp) 1.01 miles $8,096, 1 mile of gravel, locations to be determined $16,192. Mineral Well Brine for gravel roads $29,160. We will be #11 for the Gradall this year. The 2019 total budget agreed on for roads was approximately $176,856. Parmalee moved; Fraser seconded. Roll Call: Griffith, Fulks, Schmidt, Parmalee, Fraser. All ayes Carried.
