LAWN MOWING NOTICE TO BID

Perry Township is accepting bids for lawn mowing at Roselawn Cemetery, the Township Hall and two industrial park retention ponds. Complete bidding specs are available at Perry Township Hall, 2770 W. Ellsworth Rd., Perry, Mi. 48872, Tues. & Wed. 9am-4pm or may be printed here. See specs. below.  The bids need to be back to the Clerk by March 3, 2020 at 4 pm. Please submit 2 references along with your bid.

1. That the “Contractor” shall mow and trim the grass area at “Location #1”. “Contractor” shall be responsible for such mowing and trimming whenever the average height of the grass reaches 3.5 inches but no more often than once every seven (7) days.
2. That the “Contractor” shall mow and trim the grass area at “Location #2”. The area to be mowed and trimmed is the area within the storm water retention ponds that is free of standing water. This area shall be mowed and trimmed by “Contractor” whenever the average height of the grass reaches 3.5 inches, but not more often than once every seven (7) days.
3. That the “Contractor” shall mow and trim the grass area at “Location #3. The mowing and trimming shall occur whenever the grass reaches the average height of 3.5 inched, but not more than once every seven (7) days.
4. That mowing shall reduce the average height of the grass by an amount of expected growth in a seven (7) day period but not more than the amount which will keep the grass healthy.
5. That some trimming will be done each time mowing occurs such that the landscape of each location maintains an attractive appearance and healthy condition.
6. That detailed trimming will be done at “Location #3” along with the mowing in preparation for the holidays of Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day (Holidays). Detailed trimming means that the grass next to or near all grave markers, flower pots, urns, shrubs, trees, fences, buildings, rocks or other fixtures will be trimmed to a height of less than 3.5 inches. Said detailed trimming and a mowing shall be performed on the Thursday before the Holidays, weather permitting. The performance of this obligation shall be timed by “Contractor” such that it will not be necessary to mow and trim more often than once every seven (7) days. The “Contractor” will make the holiday mowing and trimming a priority.
7. That the “Contractor” will to the best of their ability, when clearing the grounds to mow and trim (example: after a wind storm) try to replace items that have blown off of a grave site back to where they belong at “Location 3”.If unable to locate the items home, the item will be turned into the sexton at the poll barn.
8. That the “Contractor” will be respectful and patient with family and friends that have come to pay their respects to their loved ones at “Location 3”.
9. That the “Township” shall pay the sum of $____ each time the “Contractor” mows and trims “Location #1”. The “Township” shall pay the sum of $____ each time for spring rolling of “Location #1”. $____ each time “Contractor” mows and trims “Location #2”. The “Township” shall pay the sum of $_____ each time for spring rolling of “Location #2”. The “Township” shall pay the sum of $_____ each time the “Contractor” mows and trims “Location #3” and $_____ each time for spring rolling of “Location #3”.
10. That this agreement is made for the 2020 growing season.
11. That the “Contractor” shall supply all needed equipment, fuel and supplies required to accomplish the obligations herein imposed and shall perform the tasks herein required in such a way that there shall be no damage done to property or injury sustained by any person.
12. That the “Contractor” shall maintain liability insurance with coverage as shall be approved by the “Township” naming the “Township” as an additional insured and provide a copy of such insurance to the Township Clerk.
13. That the “Contractor” shall be liable for and hold “Township” harmless from claims, injuries, or property damage suffered by third parties, if the approximate cause for the injury or property damage relates to the acts, errors or omissions of the “Contractor” or “Contractor’s” employees.
14. That the “Contractor” shall be liable for and hold the “Township” harmless from all claims for damage to or loss of “Contractor’s” equipment or injury to “Contractor’s” employees occasioned while performing the obligations of this agreement. “Contractor” shall maintain workers compensation insurance on its employees and provide a copy of such insurance or “Notice of Exclusion” granted by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth Workers’ Compensation Agency to the Township Clerk.
15. That the “Contractor” shall not subcontract any part of this agreement without the written consent of the “Township”.
16. That this agreement shall be interpreted under the laws of the State of Michigan.
