Regular Meeting Minutes

May 6, 2020


Present: Mark Fulks, Supervisor; Kelly Schmidt, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Mark Fraser and Frances Griffith, Trustees.

Guests: Justen Horvath


The Supervisor opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.

The agenda was approved with additions. Parmalee moved; Fraser seconded. All ayes Carried.

The April 1, 2020 minutes were approved. Fraser moved; Griffith seconded. All ayes Carried.


Sheriff Report: 73 calls in the township; 5 traffic stops.

SSESA: 15 runs; 61 runs in Perry Twp for the year. 356 total SSESA runs for the year.

SEDP: Justen Horvath reported the condition of Shiawassee Co. since the Covid 19 stated. Shiawassee Co. is at 27% unemployment to date. Many small businesses have applied and received the stimulus funds.


The financial statement was approved to pay the bills. Fulks moved; Fraser seconded. Roll Call: Fulks, Fraser, Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee. All ayes Carried.


Correspondence: The Road Commission sent a letter explaining the budget shortfall for 2020 and explained the budget cuts. The Supervisor sent a letter in support of the Greater Laingsburg Recycling Project. The Village of Morrice submitted ballot language for a millage extension for roads for the November election.




  • ·        The Board approved the hourly employees to be paid their wages under the stay home order. Fraser moved; Fulks seconded. Roll Call: Fraser, Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee, Fulks. All ayes Carried.
  • ·        The sexton requested additional money for foundation installation to help pay for the unexpected rising cost of cement, re-rod and 2×4’s. The Board approved the sexton to recoup the non-resident rate for 3 months and then it will be re-evaluated. Parmalee moved; Griffith seconded. Roll Call: Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee, Fulks, Fraser. All ayes Carried.
