Regular Meeting Minutes

May 5, 2021

Present: Mark Fulks, Supervisor; Kelly Schmidt, Clerk; Troy Parmalee, Treasurer; Mark Fraser and Frances Griffith Trustees.

Guests: Dave Draggoo.

The Supervisor opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.

The agenda was approved with additions. Parmalee moved; Griffith seconded. All ayes Carried.

The April 7, 2021 minutes were approved. Parmalee moved; Fraser seconded. All ayes Carried.

Sheriffs Office: 7 traffic stops; 31 calls for the month.

SSESA: 22 runs for the month; 68 runs in Perry Township for the year and 576 total SSESA runs for the year.

The financial statement was approved to pay the bills. Fraser moved; Griffith seconded to approve. Roll Call: Fulks, Fraser, Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee. All ayes Carried.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  • The ZBA tabled the Slocum Variance Application at the April 27 meeting. It was recommended to the Slocums to apply to MDOT for a driveway permit.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Dave Draggoo gave information regarding a new Greater Laingsburg Recyclers Center. The current center is open the 2nd Sat. of the Month. The new center will be open twice a week. The total cost of the project is $240,000. The GLRC has been doing fundraisers and was awarded a $50,000 grant. They will be partnering with the Laingsburg School who donated the land and will do maintenance on the new building and the City of Laingsburg who will be the fiduciary for the Center. They still need $30,0000 to complete the project but they have enough to start the new building late summer. The board offered to send a letter to Commissioner Plowman and the Solid Waste Committee on their behalf in support of the new Center encouraging the County to give greater financial support to help get the Laingsburg Recycling Center going for the southwest part of the county.
  • There was a Budget Amendment for 2020-2021 #2 for the Roselawn Fund to increase unrealized gain/loss on investments by $1000 to $6000 and decrease contingency by $1000 to $59,200. Fraser moved; Griffith seconded Roll Call: Griffith, Schmidt, Parmalee, Fulks, Fraser. All ayes Carried
